Course Overview

You will explore key areas of psychology, including cognitive, developmental, social, and biological psychology, alongside research methods and ethics. The counselling component introduces you to therapeutic approaches such as person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), helping you understand how these methods are applied to support individuals through emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges. Through practical workshops, role-play, and supervised practice, you will develop active listening, empathy, and communication skills essential for working in therapeutic and support roles.

Graduates will have a strong foundation in both psychology and counselling, enabling them to pursue careers in mental health services, education, social care, and the voluntary sector.
